Beautiful any time of year, Brattleboro is a scenic south eastern town in Vermont, close to Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Situated comfortably between the Connecticut River and the West River, Brattleboro offers numerous recreational opportunities. It is home to many shops and dining establishments and is also a great place for enjoying the outdoors. Activities like cross-country skiing and skating are popular during winter months, while fishing and hiking are enjoyed during summer months. There is a thriving arts scene in Brattleboro and the town has several art galleries for browsing local and international art, while the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center offers people of all ages an educational and inspiring look at art. Vermont is known as a top producer of maple syrup and Brattleboro's Coombs Family Farms specializes in all things maple. A popular not-to-be-missed annual event is the Brattleboro Winter Carnival. It is one of the longest running winter celebrations in the country and offers plenty of fun activities for the whole family.
