The Groton State Forest is managed for year round recreation, forestry and wildlife habitat. Some points of historic interest in Groton are the Montpelier and Wells River Railroad, Osmore Pond, Owl's Head, Lakeside Station and the Rocky Point Flag Stop to name a few.
